Admissions

Enrollment & Entrance

Bentonville Schools is thrilled to have the opportunity to provide a digital learning experience for students and families who require a flexible learning environment to meet their specific needs. To ensure the level of excellence that is the standard in Bentonville, we carefully evaluate criteria to ensure this setting is the right fit to support your child’s success.

Students interested in the Bentonville Schools Virtual Program should complete the Intent to Enroll Form each year in March. Completing the form does not guarantee placement in the program, the criteria for placement must be met. On April 15th of each school year a Virtual School Application for the following school year will be sent to families who have completed the Intent to Enrollment and meet initial screening.

It is essential that families participate in the Intent to Enroll process because we build our master schedule based on the responses. After the initial April 1st deadline, families can complete a Virtual School Interest Form at any point during the school year to express interest placement within the Virtual Program. If placement is appropriate and a schedule can be built then the family will be sent the Virtual Program Application. It is always recommended to start at the beginning of a semester, but special circumstances will be taken into consideration.

Families who wish to be considered for the 7-12 Virtual School option must be able to meet the following program requirements:

  • Students will be present online during instruction with the Chromebook camera on in a quiet environment conducive to learning.

  • Students will have an established record of strong attendance and maintain strong attendance throughout the year.

  • Students will have an established record of completing work and turning in assignments on time.

  • Students will maintain grade-level performance or show adequate growth toward grade-level mastery with intervention or special services support.

  • Virtual students who receive related services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc., will access their services in a virtual format.

  • Students will be required to be on-campus for the completion of state-mandated testing and other services/requirements that may arise.

  • All students in grades 7-12 Virtual School must meet Bentonville Schools Residency and Entrance requirements as defined in Board of Education policy.
